A word frequency counter shows which words and phrases appear most often in a text. Paste your text, and the tool lists each word with how many times it occurs and what share of the text it represents.
Writers use it to catch overused words, SEO professionals use it to check keyword usage, and students and researchers use it to see what a text is really about. Switch to two-word or three-word phrases to find repeated expressions instead of single words.
Stop words are very frequent words such as "the", "and", "of" and "to". They appear in almost every text, so leaving them in would push them to the top and hide the words that actually describe your topic. Untick the option to include them.
The tool slides along the text and counts every run of two or three words in a row. When common words are ignored, phrases that start or end with a common word are skipped, which keeps the list meaningful.
No. "Apple", "APPLE" and "apple" are counted as the same word, and the result is shown in lowercase.
Keyword density shows the percentage a word makes up of the whole text. This tool shows the same percentage next to each count, but for every word and phrase at once, so you can see all of them and spot overused words.
Everything runs locally in your browser. Your text is never uploaded, stored or shared.
